Live Life in the Fast Lane (Penny Black)

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

As mentioned in my post yesterday, the break from creating has left me a little rusty in some areas so I decided to just sit down and colour (using Copics). I stamped up the images from the You’re Retro! stamp set by Penny Black – such a great set (great for masculine cards too!). After I had coloured in all the images I decided that I was quite happy with what I had done and I would make them into cards. I must confess a few of the sentiments are not perfectly aligned as I hadn’t originally planned to make the images into finished cards.

For today’s post, I am sharing the super cute roller skating kitty cat. Whilst the two cards below are more feminine because of the colours used, I do think you could make this image into a nice card card for a young/teenage boy. Might have to give it a try. So many ideas now. lol

Here’s the card…

Live Life in the Fast Lane Materials used: Stamps - You're Retro! (Penny Black); Cardstock - American Crafts, Unknown; Designer Paper - Rise & Shine (Amy Tangerine/American Crafts); and Copic Markers.

I then decided to play around with the colour of the cat for the second image. I also played around with embossing paste and spray mist – bit of a way to go with the embossing paste (especially since I forgot to add embossing powder lol)and am looking forward to playing with it again.

Such fun images to create with! Penny Black never ceases to amaze and inspire me with their designs.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping!

Oh, for gosh sakes…how cute is that roller-skating kitty, with a smile that’s making me laugh out loud (which I can do because my husband’s not around to give me the ‘quizzical eye-brow raised’ look! Again, amazing colouring! Your backgrounds are both delightful! I have embossing paste and just plain forget to use it (of course, not being sure how doesn’t help!). Yayyy for two more delights!

I know, right! Totally love these kitty cats and their expressions. They have been so fun to create with. Ooh, get out the embossing paste and play, even mistakes seem to look good. lol Thanks, C!

Ooh, these are gorgeous, Kylie! I love the way you subtly colored the cat, and the color schemes for the background are awesome!

I will have to check out this stamp set, now. It’s going on my to-get list. 😀
