Sometimes you are lucky that an idea pops into your mind, and comes out onto paper, with relatively little effort. This is how it was for today’s card. Whilst it looks very simple, it surprised me to realise I used 6 stamps/stamp sets to make this card. The idea came from the cute little fox from the Critters in the Forest stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I have been using this fox a lot lately and because of this I had cut and coloured a pile of them so that I could just pick them up and use them when inspiration struck. I keep all my cut out images on a tray (see below). The pile of little foxes just happened to have a little heart above their heads. Right then and there the design was born.
In this particular example, I have used the “Miss You” stamp from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler stamp set but any number of other sentiments could be such as “Congratulations” or “I Love You”. I have also made the same card using the “Congratulations” sentiment which is also from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler stamp set. I have also varied the location and number of hearts above the foxes heads and next to the sentiment. Whilst I have kept the frame tilted, it would also look super cute if it was straight up and down. Might have to try that next time!
When I want to work with a particular image that I will be colouring I tend to stamp up a few of them at a time. There are a couple of reasons for this: 1), if I make a mistake (poor colour choice, not my best colouring, accidents when cutting the image out) I don’t have to start all over from scratch; 2) it can be quite relaxing just to sit and colour; 3) it is handy to have extra images in case your design changes; 4) I can experiment with colours and mediums, and 5) if inspiration does strike, I can sit there and just put the card together easily. I put all of my “surplus” images onto a tray so that I can grab them at any time.

Happy Stamping!

I liked this card, it’s amazing what you find on the computer.
Cheers.
Thank you! I like it too. 🙂 Yes, the things which pop up unexpectedly are quite amazing.
