Hi Everyone,
Yesterday I sat down to colour this sweet image from Penny Black. I had a couple of ideas as to how I wanted to use it and the first was having it mounted on a newspaper print background to match up with the newspaper in the stamp. I stamped the image four times and then proceeded to colour them all. I coloured the newspaper a little differently each time. (The other three images are now in the to-do pile as I want to try some other colour schemes – a soft purple…maybe colour the sky as well, for example.)
Seriously, how cute is this stamp? It’s a delight to colour…and it is still available! YAY!
Oh, and speaking of delightful…I was totally delighted when I read my emails this morning and found out I was the winner of a set of the new 12 Distress Markers by Tim Holtz and Ranger courtesy of Jennifer McGuire (the guru of stamping!). You all know how much I love colouring with these markers and the new colours were on the to-get list. I’m very excited and very grateful too. Was a great way to start the day!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Happy Stamping!

Woo hoooo on the Distress Markers win, Kylie – you are MOST deserving, as using these to perfection is one (of your seemingly infinite!) specialties! Exciting! I’m hoping my order from SSS – which includes two sets of the markers – will be awaiting me at home! LOVE your card; again, awesome colouring and such a darling mouse, lounging in its newspaper boat. I’m so looking forward to what you create with the other three on the ‘to do’ pile. They’ll be stunning; that’s a guarantee! Hope you have a fantastic day – and again, a boisterous CONGRATS for the win!!

Thank you so much, C! I was SO excited – still am! lol Oh I hope your order will be waiting for you. What a great thing to come home too. I can’t wait to see what you do with your markers. Thank you for your lovely comments and your enthusiasm! It’s wonderful and most definitely appreciated! Safe travelling! 🙂
Hey you! Big congrats on the new markers!! It’s always fun to get new goodies, isn’t it?! And your card is darling. It’s kind of funny…the last time I went to watch the kiddies in Madison, we made newspaper hats. They’ll be here the first weekend in August, and I’ll be sure to show them this card; they’ll be delighted. Great coloring as always, and you’re right, this image is adorable. Great card. Have a good one.
Hi Bev, thanks so much! I was beyond thrilled to find out I was the winner. First time I have ever won anything like that…and it couldn’t have been a more perfect prize. So thankful! Oh sounds like you had lots of fun with the children. 🙂 And the first week of August is coming up very quickly! (I cannot get over how quickly this year is passing by!). Thanks for your lovely comments, Bev! 🙂
