Monster-ous Fun

by Kylie

Hi Everyone,

A few days ago I mentioned I was stamping with a super-cute House Mouse stamp but was having trouble achieving a finished look I was happy with. I played with a number of different looks and mediums. In the end, I decided a paper-pieced look might be fun. On the positive side, by playing with the different looks and mediums I have a few more ideas to explore next time I pick up this stamp. Yay!

Here’s the card…

Monster-ous Fun Materials used: Stamps - Monster Mouse (House Mouse, Stampa Rosa); Cardstock - American Crafts; Designer Paper - 6-1/2" Paper Pad - Hello Sunshine (KAISERCraft); Copic Markers and Glossy Accents.

I decided the sentiment was a bit too large for the front of the card. On the inside, however, it looks so cute, especially with the “scary” mouse next to it.

Here’s the inside…

Monster-ous Fun (inside) Materials used: Stamps - Monster Mouse, 11-1843 (House Mouse, Stampa Rosa); Designer Paper - 6-1/2" Paper Pad - Hello Sunshine (KAISERCraft); and Copic Markers.

Hope you are all having a day full of monster-ous fun!

Happy stamping!

OHHHHHH! I think that paper piecing was the PERFECT choice for this little card/scene! LOOOOOOOOOVE your choice of papers! LOVE that little mouse/monster:) LOVE LOVE LOVE! Fab card!

ps…. thanks for your sweet comment on my blog:) I def. struggle when crafting! My videos might be 4 minutes or more…. but it takes well over three hours just to figure out the design sometimes! LOL! Can’t wait to see the other ideas you have from this card/image and trials of mediums/etc. <3 HUGS!

Oh, for crying out loud – how sweet is this *scary* mousie scene! I love that one has cut out his ‘fangs and is ‘trying to’ frighten the other with his shenanigans! I can just picture the second one rolling his eyes, and probably saying “Seriously???” Adorable to the nth degree! Again, your colouring is amazing (the mice even have tummy-buttons…squeal!) and your talent in creating sweet, smile-making scenes is spectacular! Yes indeed, my visit here has certainly added mega sparkle to my day! Hugs~c

It is so incredibly cute, isn’t it? I just so wanted to do it justice. Thank you sooo much for your sweet words again C. My face resembles that of a cheshire cat at about this point. 🙂 hugs!!

Finally I can catch up on my commenting! This card is a real treat. The little mousies are rather endearing, in spite of the one trying to scare the other, who, in my opinion doesn’t feel threatened at all! Love that you paper-pieced this card. Sometimes it’s just the thing. I’ve got 3 little critters just waiting for a card, but it hasn’t come to me yet. Love all the fussy cutting involved in the process. This card is so inspiring. You’ve got it going on AGAIN, girlfriend!! Hope you have a great week. : )

lol I so agree – there is nothing scary about that cute little mouse. Love the House Mouse stamps – and I quite enjoyed the fussy cutting too. lol Oh, that sounds exciting, Bev. Cannot wait to see your little critters. Hope the ideas start pinging soon. 🙂 Hope you have a great week too, Bev! hugs!!

This is such a fun card, Kylie! Your choice of patterned paper is absolutely perfect (it just oozes the “sewing” atmosphere) and the coloring on the mice is just lovely. I think paper piecing was the right way to go with this card. It totally fits with the image, and it adds that extra special “personal” touch.

I really love the inside of the card, too! I don’t think the sentiment would have been the same if it didn’t also have the mouse. It just pulls everything together perfectly.

Oh that you! I am so glad you like it, Elle. Took ages to finally settle on a design. Thank you so much!! 🙂
