Hi Everyone,
My super sweet, generous and talented friend Emily sent me a couple of gorgeous stamp sets for my birthday and I just couldn’t wait to start using them. One of the sets she chose was “Paint the Town” from Penny Black (she knows me too well!). Soooo cute! (Oh no, I cannot find this set on their site! Such a shame if they have discontinued it!) The little hedgehog lying on his back immediately called out to be stamped. As is my want, I went with a super simple design.
Here’s the card…
Thinking the card might be a little too plain, I attempted the design again but added a couple of extra die cut shapes from the Die-namics Blueprints 8 set from My Favourite Things. I have a couple of the Blueprints die sets but really haven’t used them other than for basic outlines such as the stitched square. I think it is time to step up my usage as they have so many different dies you can use. A side effect of this is that I now have a few more Blueprints dies on my wishlist. Uh oh! lol
Here’s the second card…
It will come as no surprise to you to find out I have another couple of cards in the making using the same stamp. Love this little guy!
I couldn’t finish this post without telling you a little bit about the gorgeous items Emily makes. Emily runs an Etsy shop called Chloe Jane Handmade and makes the most wonderful things including ADORABLE personalised tooth fairy pillows as well as bibs and blankets. She’s amazing!
So, I’m off to play with this stamp set some more as I still have ideas for this cutie and I haven’t even started to use the other gorgeous images in the set.
Hope you are all having a fantastic day!
Happy Stamping!

These are real cutiepatoeties 😀
You are too kind, thank you! 🙂
I love how you combine different stamp sets. You inspired me to do more of that..Happy Crafting.
Hi Mandy, thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment too! Many different stamp sets mix and match so well. I’m so pleased I’ve inspired you! Such a compliment! 🙂
Well, apparently I’m not alone in ‘nudging’ you to head over to some challenges! I second Bev…get these delights over there and do what she and I both know you’ll do: WIN!! Now, about these hedgehogs: new definition added to ‘cute and adorable’! I want to give his tummy a rub, then pick him up for a bunch of cuddles! Beyond darling…and I’d even give the wee little bee some loving too! Happy sighing…so marvelous to have you back!
Hugs~c
Awww shucks, thanks Ms C! 🙂
What a fabulous set, Kylie! I just love the way you have the sentiment and the different-colored heart behind it. I never would have thought of that, myself, but I love it and I am so going to steal that idea!
I also adore your addition of die-cut elements. That small scallop and flags are just perfect. They add some extra interest while still keeping things subtle. 🙂
Thank you! 🙂 lol I’m so glad I inspired you, Elle! It’s a technique I use often. Sometimes you just need that extra little pop of colour.
I’m supposed to be finishing up the deep clean of the craft room….but I had to stop and tell you how much I love these sweet little hedgehogs! Cuter than cute! And I like this simple design — my eyes knew right where to go, right away. And you need to check out the MFT sketches/color challenges. They don’t require full-on MFT stuff, so with your Blueprints, you’d be able to play along! And WIN! Go take a peek, I think a new sketch is up today! I’m so glad you’re crafting again!! Hugs to you sweet friend.
Ooh thank you! I really should look at the challenges…there are so many great mojo kickstarters out there. Thanks for your enthusiasm too. It means a lot to me, Bev! Hope the deep clean has gone well and that you’ve rediscovered lots of cute goodies to play with. 🙂
